Washington DC/N VA/MD processing times

We applied for N400 on the last cut-off date(07/30) before the application fee hike. We received the return receipt for the certified mail a month later. Till today no other letter has been received indicating our PD or FP dates. Also the checks haven't been cashed yet even after 2 months.
Fellow washingtonians that are in same boat and applied around the same dates please share your progress. In all my previous INS processes(F1/H1/485) I always received a notice within week with PD and approximate processing times. Don't they send anything like that for N400 apps.

There is a pretty hefty "frontlog" of applications waiting to be opened by Vermont Service Center at the moment; apparently they are only just getting around to dealing with applications received on the last day before the fee hike. Expect to receive an initial notice in the next 3-4 weeks.
