I just got my receipt notice for my H1B extension from Company A. Here are the details:
Received date: Apr 21, 2006
Notice date: May 8, 2006
But my H1B expired Apr 16, 2006. My lawyer told me he filed end of Mar but somehow the received date was more than 3 wks later. Was I out of status between Apr 16 and Apr 21? Will that affect the approval? I'm worried because Company B is going to file for H1B for me too but because of the timing of my visa expiration they waited til I get the receipt notice from Company A with the expectation that the received date will be before my expiration date.
Can somebody pls enlighten me on this. Thanks!
