Hello,

i have accompanied my husband to US on H4 visa ..My husband is on H1 and is working in Virginia....
I have done my Bcom , one year of M.Com & MBA in finance from Mumbai University this 2010 and want to take up a job here but as I am on H4 i cannot work...
.But I can study here on my H4....

So
1.if I pursue CPA can I change my status to F1 visa here so that it can help me to take up a job later...

2. Or pursue CPA on H4 visa and would it then help me to fetch a job after completion ....

3.Also I dont have any job experience so what are my chances to change from H4 to H1 in this current scenario
Please any one here who can help me with it

Awaiting for response...

Thank you

Thank you for reverting back to my query..

Yes CPA is not a degree program..But as I mentioned I have done my post graduation studies in business management (MBA) from Mumbai,Maharashtra India

So I want to pursue some short course which will help me to get a job here..I have heard CPA is a good course

I am still in a query that in order to work here do i need to study on H4 or do i have to change my status to F1 student visa

I am really aspiring to work as i just finished my post graduation and got married and came to US...

Please help...

Thank you

You may study on H4.

A certificate or test prep program is not likely to qualify for student visa. It will not qualify for OPT.

Check your local universities for "continuing education" opportunities. You could also compare your MBA program with the one offered locally and take the courses you have missed as a non-degree seeking student basis.

OK..

So would it be a good option to go for a diploma course on H4 in local univ.....Will it help me to get a job later

Can I work like part time like cashier in say some local stores on my H4 ?

Also please can u brief me about OPT and EAD i am confused

I really appreciate ur replies coz i want to start with some thing...

Thank you

Absolutely no work on H4.

If you already have an MBA, you should find an employer to sponsor you for an H1B job. You can then take CPA prep classes in your off time. Multiple MS/MA degrees are of little use if your current masters is in the area in which you plan to work. There are still H1B visas available so begin your job search. Your spouse should have friends at work from the area in which you live who can provide him with suggestions of legitimate employers. Remember that H1B can be for part time work as well. Many small businesses have no need of a full time accountant; accounting is a field in demand so you should have opportunities available.
