My H-B has been applied by US company. Currently I'm in india, Delhi. I checked on the TTS Website that i need a WAC# for booking an appointment at the delhi consulate. I only have an EAC# for that matter. Also There at the website they have asked for the application expiry date. The details sent to me by my US employer does not have expiry date, so does it mean that I need to wait for the INS approval, and before that i cannot book an appointment? All i have is the I-797C reciept copy, which has been scanned and send to me by my employer.

Please guide me through, that when can i book an appointment with the consulate. Also the expected date of my INS approval is mid Oct. 2005, so is it that if my approval comes late, i'll be still under that 2006 quota of H1?

I'm very confused right now, please help me.

You need the approval notice (I797) to book the appointment --

Receipt notice can't be used as its not enough proof that your case is indeed eligible to be granted a H1 visa -- the approval notice is the document for that purpose.

Don't worry about WAC or EAC -- WAC is issued by the California center and EAC is issued by Vermont - it depends on where you apply -- the purpose is the same.

If you get an approval in mid-Oct, it would be for FY06.
