Walk-in for EAD renewal ??

Has anyone walked into a USCIS office and renewed EAD ? Is this possible. One of my friends says you can just walk in with your old EAD etc and get it renewed there at the office...

Is this true ???

Not True in Boston Office

Contrary to what is posted on the USCIS Boston website walkin EAD renewals are not entertained. Got a rude shock when we went there about 2 weeks back for renewing my wife's EAD. The officials casually told us that the website hadn't been updated and now I am kicking myself for not filing the EAD renewal earlier.
 
Never heard of walk-in renewals. Appears as wishful thinking to me.. Local offices can't even look-up details on ur case for the most part.

Ur friend may have been referring to interim EAD, which can be received from Local office if the EAD renewal application is pending for 90 days.
