Walk-In for Biometric data?

I see a lot of people's signatures saying they waked in early for their Biometric data appointment. Is this something that is generally acceptable?

I'd like to do it, not to speed up my process, but rather because the date of my appointment is inconvenient for me. I know I could reschedule for later, but I don't really want to delay things.

Thanks in advance.

I got my FP notice on Friday morning for 11/10. That date did not work for me so I immediately drove to the center and the guard went to speak to someone and they let me take my fingerprints. The place was not busy and I am sure this helped. The way I see it - it does not hurt to try.

i made the mistake of rescheduling my biometrics. The appointment was 2 months later!!! ;) That is when I took the chance and travel over 150 miles hoping I would be able to get a walk in appointment and thank God I was granted one. I was approved 3 days later and had EAD in 10 days. I would give it a go if I were you. ;)

Wow, that's cool. I just had mine taken for the EAD and wonder how long it's going to be.

I guess that is something I will have to try, because it doesn't seem like I will be getting a FP notice in the mail. It's been over six weeks since my ND, and nothing. Zilch. I will give them one more week, and if I don't get that notice, I will walk in. Pray for me and wish me luck :)

Cheers! :)

I am not sure they will let you in without the notice. They will ask for that when you first get in and they need that for fingerprinting. They had to scan it before they took the fingerprints. I definitely recommend waiting until you get your notice then walk in.

I am waiting, Chelly, I am... But I think they just forgot to send me that notice. It's been way too long already, I have lost my hope...

wow I'll try

I'm gonna give it a go as soon as my EAD notice arrives. It SEEMS to speed up the process. My TN expires on 01/26/07 so I need to have EAD by then - hopefully it works out! As long as they don't get mad for showing up as a walk-in I can't see how it could hurt.
Chelly your timeline and situation looks very similar to mine except I am a week behind you. Hopefully it all goes smoothly.

My wife received her Biometrics appt. Notice for July 15th, we went 3 days early , as I would not be able to take time off work the on the appt. day.

They let us in no questions asked, since we already had the appt. notice in hand.
