Yes, you simply walk in with all your papers and take your chance. Since the centers are usually not very crowded, you would most likely be able to get your finger printing done as "walk-ins". But there is no guarantee - if you are unfortunately enough to hit a time of the day with lot of crowd, you will be denied to get your finger printing done as "walk-in".
Secondly, getting finger printing done a few days early probably does not buy you anything in the long run.
I missed my FP appointment due to being out of town. I did a walk-in and had no problems (that I am aware of !!!!!! ). However, I am not sure that I would do a walk-in ahead of a FP appointment. It might be interpreted as trying to "buck the system" rather. Why not just meet your appointment if you can .... they are usually fairly qick, unlike the blankety-blank namecheck.
