What does this mean? How much time does that take normally? Also, how much time would it take form there on to actually get approval? Experts please suggest....

Can you put more details...

Can you put more details to give some context....You just don't post a question without details...And your subject is in plain english, so don't you understand what it says..

30-60 Days

I think avg waiting time (to assign officer) is between 30-60 days. After that if file is complete and FP's are current then you will see the approval.
did you get letter from customer service? Now a days VSC call is not working and national customer service may not give above information.

what's cooking?

Did you call or did you see an update? More information please.

Thanks Sudh, actually, I just wanted to know (just for information purposes) at what stage does this happens - Is it after all your checks and FPs are cleared and the only thing that remains is the approval/denial by an officer or are there still more processes to follow and other checks t be done once an adjudicating officer is assigned?

Hi Aakash:

This is good news. Looks like your name check perhaps has been cleared. How did you get this update?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Senator's office is best source for getting information about your case status.

Thanks! I have contacted senator (NJ) already - the 2nd update that they sent me still says that I am stuck in name check.

Seems like u reached the heaven main gate. If u don`t get it in 60 days, contact your senator again.
I guess everybody in this boat is waiting to be assigned to an adjudicating officer. Since they get all the results from whatever checks, the case will be set on the officer desk for a decision (approval, on hold or denial).

My case was approved about 45 days after the senator office informed the lawyer that my case was pending with an officer.

I think it is also the case in my wife's case.

I don't know how long they had been waiting for assignment.

I think you are almost there!
