waiting period for registering marriage

I am a Canadian Citizen and I am livingwith my Fiance in Texas-do I have to wait a certain # of days before we go and get married in the court?
Wwe want to be able to get register our wedding so we can start the green card process- I am not here on the K1 visa.

Marriage licenses have a 72 hour waiting period - unless waived due to active duty military status or court order.

Once you have the license, and you have waited 72 hours, you can go get married. Congratulations in advance. You'll be a married man.

After all that then USCIS requires I-485 / I-130 / 1-765 / I-131 .
