waiting period for green card after interview

hi,
i had my Aos interview on 2nd nov. Immi Officer stamped my passport and said u will get ur green card within 6-9 months. is it really true. i talked with one of my frnd and he said no it will come very soon. coz during his interview he got the same answer and he got his card after 2 weaks. i m so confused, i even didnt get any welcome letter. plz share ur expierence with me.

Don't worry, at least you got your passport stamped. I didn't get stamp and I'm still waiting. When you will get actual card all based on your luck I think, because immigration service is so unpredictable, they may give you a surprise any time.

6-9 months doesnt make sense. You will 'probably' get it within the next 2 weeks.

when I got my welcome letter it stated 3 weeks.....its still just a week since I got the letter....so am thinking I should get it in the next 1 week since my online status changed to "we have mailed you an approval notice .. if you havent got it in 14 days please do blah...." I am thinking thats my Plastic GC that they sent out.....but its only been less than 2 weeks since I was approved....so am sure it will arrive soon...
