Thank you all very much for the moral support. This is terrific, after exactly 14 months (to be exact...), my I140 has been approved.

Substitute Labor. No RFE
ND or RD May 30 2002
Approved Aug 1st 2003.

If the concurrent filing logic of processing I-140s by I-485 ND is correct, You might have applied your I-485 in late Sept '02 or early Oct '02 for I-485.

If your answer is a YES, Then every one else in this forum (at least EB2 and EB3) don't have to worry about their May/June pending I-140s. They will be done by your I-485 ND. This has been proved in so many cases.

me_too_waiting, Plase provide your I-485 details and support this theory.

You are correct. I have applied my 485 somewhere in September. I think it is early September.
Sept 2002 : 485
Nov 2002 : FP
Dec 2002 : Received EAD

I am a little confused by Sanga's reply. Does that mean that 485 affects 140 processing time? So, if I filed 140 in April 2002 and 485 in April 2003, what does it mean?

hello!
I hope your (me_too_waiting) star brightens mine. My ND is May 31st, one day after yours. Then again it depends what country -I meant star :) ) you are born under.

I-140 based on I-485 ND

Sanga's theory seems to be working and if so I can understand
the delay in processing my I-140 case which was filed way back
in Feb 2002 (ND is Mar 02 2002). I filed my I-485 in the end of September and ND for this is Oct 6 2002. By this theory it looks I-140 approval now is going past Sep 2002 I-485 ND
and mine should get approved within a month or so.

Earlier I remember seeing a thread (or article) supporting I-485 approval based on I-140 ND. May be we should start a thread
to find out if this theory still holds.
