Hi Folks,
Finally, my I-485 case and my wife's and child's I-485 cases got approved on April 19, 2004, via the new electriconic notification system of BCIS website. We are expecting the official approval notices. It is really a long time to have been waiting. I have to say "Thank you" to this website and folks here who share their experience and ideas. It is a helpful forum so that we can share a lot of information here. I appreciate the efforts Mr. Rajiv Khanna made to support this forum. We had waited for over 29 months. The following is details for our cases.
RD: 11/14/2001
ND: 11/30/2001
FP (the 1st): 05/06/2002
RFE received by BCIS: 04/15/2003. For me: Employment verification, plus immigration status after 09/30/2002. For my wife: marriage certificate. For my kid, marriage certificate of me and my wife.
FP (the 2nd): 01/19/2004.
AD: 04/19/2004.
It is really tough, I first saw from Rupnet some 11/2001 cases got approved in 09/2002. There is a gap of over 1 and a half years between me and those guys. I was told my name sent to FBI for name security check at December of 2002, and it was just finished on 03/31/2004, taking so long time. It is really necessary to American Homeland Security? I absolutely doubt it. I contacted two senators, left message democrat senator once, but didn't get any response; contacted republican senator 3 times (one left message on his website, and 2 letters), every time, I got positive response from the republican senator. First time (Nov. 2003), his staff made a phone call and triggered the 2nd FP notice. Second time (Feb. 2004), his staff forwarded me the email response from NSC, so that I knew my name was luckly requested for security check. I called FBI name check number left message in the middle of 03/2004, and two weeks later, I was called from FBI that my name is cleared. Third time (late March 2004), the senator office staff transfer my request to NSC, and ask them to finish it. I just got the response from Senator, it sounds his help reall worked.
Anyway, long-time waiting is over. Hope there is no long-time waiting for other people.
Good luck to everyone,
James_Dick
