Waiting for my I-130,Can I go to college?

I just applied to a community college using my A# because my H4 visa is pending. I got an email saying they will ask for documents for immigration status and pending receipts are not acceptable. What I understand is that my 485 receipts will not counted and same goes for my h4 application receipts which is also pending since jan 2004. So having an A# may not be of much help.
I would suggest you enquire with your community college as what documents they need for immigration status.

As I understood every community college has different rools, I went to the school and gave them all my papers and they will check it, will tell me next week... I'm so nervous! I'll keep you posed in this thread. <I tried sending you a private message but you blocked that option> ...

Yes...you are right every community college has different rules...strange isn't it ??? I am in California, Bay area.
Yes, I have blocked the pm ....because I feel whatever is to be discussed can be done on the forum and it will be useful to others too.
I wish you all the very best for your admissions. I doubt whether I will be able to get mine. Because just today I saw that there is a second RFE for my husband's H1. God knows what they are asking for now.

I'm in CA too! Orange County...
Someone gave me an advice-- to wait until the last week of addmissions and apply then when they are trying to make as much ppl as they can apply.... like someone said in this forum... school is a business. So try then also. Maybe in a different community college. I'm still waiting until next week to see what happened. I'll keep you posted.

I have to go to school too!
I am in CA orange county too. It seems like I have to register for school to keep my status as I am waiting for my green card which will take another 6 months. My opt expires in 2 weeks but I am still allowed to stay for 60 days. please tell me the deadlines haven't passed and that I can still apply for school, (I need the 1-20!) and if you know of any cheap community colleges!
I also teach at a school once a week. Can I still do that while I am going to school?
