Hi,
I am waiting for my Labor Certification filed from NJ. My case is about to come on table. I need to know that after it comes on the table, how long does NJ DOL takes in processing, how long will it take them to forward it to Federal Processing of Labor (Vermont Center). And if the dates at Vermont Center is current (that means, my case will be on table as soon as it reached there) how long will Federal processing take? Whats the turn around from the day the case is on table to the day I will have labor certification in my hands?

Need to loads of planning accordingly and any information will be very very much helpfull.

Ravi,

Your questions are very apt and asked by all who enter this process. Unfortunately, no one can give you an accurate answer as the USCIS works beyond any logic understood by man.

There are a lot of factors that go into the approval time - from your specific qualifications and submitted paperwork to the mood of the examiner the moment your case lands on his/her table. Also, after NJ SESA, it goes to the Regional DOL which is in NY - this is different from the Vermont Service Center. The Vermont USCIS center comes into play only once you enter the I-140 stage.

There is unfortunately no standard turn-around time and that does screw up a lot of our plans, but we don't really have a lot of choice but to wait it out. And the published dates are a guideline, but not always updated, so don't rely on them a lot as it will only to your frustation (i.e. the date is current, why isn't my case approved?)

You can also follow the NJ Labor thread and add your information to the Excel sheet. This will give you some idea of when you can expect your approval, and also help others who come after you.

Hang in there..
