waiting for interview in SF office

Hi Everyone,

I filed my 485 in Oct. 2001 and was asked for RFE in Aug. 2002. In Jan. 2003 my case was transferred to SF local office and now I am waiting for the notice for the interview appointment. Is there anyone who's under the similar situation? Can anyone who'd gone through the interview please share some experience with me? Issues such as how long it generally takes for the appointment notice to come, what I should prepare for the interview, and what kind of questions I would expect... Really appreciate for your sharing.

Currently lead time for an interview call from SFO is six months. There nothing to worry if your case is clean. I mean no job change, if job change you had taken all the necessary steps, no DUI or such things. Otherwise also there is nothing to worry you will get through just let this board know that what/why do you thing that might trigger your interview ? definitely you will find someone with similar case and will help you. But final words will be from your lawyer.
You will come to know what docs you need to have when you will get your interview letter from local INS at SFO.

Does transfer mean anything

Thanks Vipsha. Your answer is really helpful. But honestly I don't know why my case got transferred to SF. Does the transfer mean that there is some issue that is not clear to the immigration officers so that they would like to have a personal interview? Thanks. --HZ

If you don't know or don't have clue than just relax, let the interview letter come and you will come to know what INS wants. I have just posted some help on interview in some other thread so go through it and let me know if you have any question.
It looks like that your interview will be just a formality, which INS does now a days to make sure that you are right guy and working with same employer.

do they stamp pspt after interview?

Thanks Vipsha. I went through almost all the answers you've given to other threads and you look like such warm-hearted person. Really appreciate it. Also, wanted to ask you, do INS SF office stamp passports on the interview day if the interview goes thru? Thanks. --HZ

Most probably they will not stamp and they will not tell you whether it has been approved or not, but indirectly you will come to know that it is going to approve. How? Officer will tell you if anything is wrong otherwise INS will send approval letter so that you can go to INS and get your PP stamp. You will receive approval letter between a 1-8 weeks.

This is my opinion by reading ppl experiences.
