Waiting for Interview Date

My wife, a USC, applied for me under i 130. NVC completed the case on August 19, 2009. They will email my wife and her lawyer the interview date once it has been fixed. However, rather than waiting for the email, can she call the NVC operator after fifteen days and obtain the interview date from the operator? Will the US consulate in my home country be able to tell the interview date as well, if I call them?

Where in the world are you? If you are in the US, why is the NVC involved in your case? If you outside of the US, then I see why they are involved. :)In my own experience, no one has ever had to call immigration people and was told the date of the interview. However, things might have changed, but USCIS never changes, except to raise fees...
