Waiting for Interview Date, help please!

I am waiting for my Interview Notice. My PD is 5/18/06 and FD 6/21/06. Most of folks with similar time frame as mine in my district (Detroit) got their interview notices. My questions are:

1. How can check my status other than online at USCIS.gov? Shall I call the local office or USCIS?
2. When you get your Interview notice, is the uscis.gov online case status updated?

I called USCIS, they said they did not have enough information to tell me?

You can try an infopass appointment. If the file is at the district office they may be able to tell you something.

BTW: just to discourage you, my PD is Sept 19, 2005 and I'm waiting for an interview date (the USCIS "descheduled" my May 5th interview and I haven't heard anything since).
