Waiting for IL for 16 months due to namecheck delay -- optimal steps to take?

Hi, I am new to this forum, would really appreciate your help. Here is my timeline:

May'06: N-400 filed (state: NJ)
Jun'06: Fingerprint
Mar'07: Service request
Jun'07: Service request reply: background check in progress with FBI
Today: still waiting for interview letter

I've heard there are plenty of things one can do (infopass, calling FBI, letters to sentars, first lady, lawsuits, etc.), but I'd really appreciate an expert advice -- what would be the _optimal_ next steps for me?

Thanks a lot.

I had waited for 17 months before I got the interview letter. Writing to Laura Bush worked for me. You can search for my posts, I have posted a template of my Laura Bush letter. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I think it will be good if you contact your local senators before contacting Laura Bush. That way you could mention that in your letter to Laura Bush.

Yes, I agree contact Senators, Laura Bush, President or whatever it takes...dont stay quiet...staying quiet will not get you anything.

I wish you best of Luck.

My priority date is Mar 2006. I passed the interview in Oct 2006 but was told that my name check was pending.

I have had a couple of infopass appointments, written to local senator but of no avail. My wife and kids who applied with me were all naturalized within 6 months.

I am at my wits end....should I write to Laura Bush?
