How can I track my I 485 approval date. Is there anything that we can find out that right now so and so dates are getting approval? Is it by filing date of I485 or by filing date of labour certification? Which order they go by? Somebody please help.

Thanks.

I-485 approval

first tell your PD of labour. and catogary ie, EB2/EB3 RIR ? or Non-RIR ?
then only we can tell your priority of I-485.

Thanks for reply. I was waiting since long time.

My catagory is EB-3 Non-RIR. Also do you mean by PD is filing date of labour?
If yes, then it is March-2001.

Rajesh,
It is impossible to predict when one's I-485 will be adjudicated. The process is totally arbitrary. Some people who have I485 RD in 2005 have gotten approvals while some others, like me, have been waiting since 2003 or even earlier.
There are a couple of things you might do. First check if your PD is current. If it is, try to get the status of your FBI name check. Most of the aplications are delayed due to this check (mine included). You can get the status by a few methods
1. If you are lucky, you can get the answer by calling the USCIS 1-800 number OR
2. If you are lucky you can get answer through Infopass OR
3. You can contact your local senator/congressman and have his office inquire about your Name check status from USCIS OR
4. Ask your lawyer to make an AILA inquiry
The 3rd and 4th options take between 3 to 6 weeks. If your PD is current and if find out your name check is cleared, its just a matter of time before your I485 application is approved. Hope this helps

The VSC has taken back a significant number of I-485 Adjustment of Status cases from local USCIS offices. Mr. Canney specifically mentioned 11,000 cases from New York City and 7,000 from Washington D.C. These are cases that were sent to the local office for personal interviews. The VSC is going to review them with an eye toward the possibility of waiving the personal interviews. Those who cannot have the interviews waived will be returned to the local offices to schedule the interviews

Sanindia - please elaborate

AILA inquiry - please elaborate a little on this - I am a lost soul in these terrains for the last 3 years (yep) and this path is still unexplored for me .. how do you go about doing this?

TIA

If a lawyer is a member of AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association), most of them if not all are I think, AILA has a procedure to get detailed case status of clients by contacting USCIS, similar to Senator's inquiry. This may take a little longer than Senator's inquiry. Also, I'm not sure how far this is true, but both forms of inquiry cannot be made at the same time. Just like the Senator's inquiry, AILA inquiry does not influence the pace/outcome of I485 adjudication.

My PD is 19 March 2001. As per June visa bulletin the current date is 8 April 2001 for EB-3. Does this mean my case will be approved now?or in June? The reason for this is my EAD is expiring 9 Aug 2006. Should I take a risk of not to renew my EAD? What is the renewal procedure? What is the fees for that? Please advise. How soon should I have to apply for renewal?

If your PD is current, the next step is to find your name check status. If that is cleared you should get your I485 approved soon (I don't know how long it takes, maybe a week, maybe 2 months). If you are not sure (which you are not) that your I485 will be approved before August I would advice you to renew your EAD. Rule of thumb, which my lawyer has made me believe, is to file for new EAD 3 months before expiration of existing EAD. Usually it gets approved in 4 to 6 weeks. I think it costs about $350 for application fees. If your lawyer will charge for the service, then thats extra.
Hope this helps

"Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call customer service at the number provided below."

What does this means, Any help appreciated

Our jurisdiction is origianlly NSC. Our 2nd PERM based EB2 140/485 filed at Nebraska went to TSC with receipts of SRC.
Today we got this message, any advise folks. I was following TSC tracker average approval their was between 3-4 months.

On August 11, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in LINCOLN, NE for processing. Our office in LINCOLN, NE will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.

485 Times

I've tried looking around on this portal but I haven't been able to understand a couple of things :-

I applied for 485 on Aug 3 (RD Aug 10) and my PD is Current. Does that mean I'm just waiting for them to get to my App (TSC is at 2/2006) or does it mean that i'm now just waiting for my approval.

Also where does the name check and interview come into the picture?

Any help is appreciated.
