Waiting for I-485 Approval - Frustrating

How soon should I expect an update for I-485 case?

My PD is current since May 1, 2006, and was asked to do 2nd FP (Code 1) on May 18, 2006 (No LUD update though after FP done). Does this mean my case is being touched by an officer?

I tried to call the 1-800- number to make an inquiry, but was turned down and I was told to wait for 60 days after the 2nd FP. Does this happen to all you guys also?

Can I reasonably assume that the 2nd FP means my name check is cleared? Any comments?

I am as frustrated as other people on this waiting game.

I also have similar issue. After second FP (code 1) no LUD or message change. My EAD also pedning since 3 months. I saw in ur signature that u got IEAD.

What is the process for it and do we need to pay any thing extra ???

My EAD experience is not a short story. For i-EAD you could get it at local USCIS office by using InfoPass appointment, no extra charge, and usually it's valid for 3-months.

In my case, I called NSC after it's out of processing time and was told they're going to send me a RFE (RFE for an EAD, :eek: ??). I waited for this RFE for 3 weeks, and nothing came.

After 3-month pending, I went to the local USCIS office and got an i-EAD. When in the USCIS office, I took the chance to ask for my case status again and was told there would be a RFE. Again, nothing came after 2 weeks waiting.

Finally I called the 1800 number to invoke a formal status inquiry after 3.5-month pending. You know what? Approval came right after the inquiry!!! So these RFE things are simply excuses from NSC to delay my case.
