Waiting for H4 Stamping

My wife attended interview for H4 stamping at Chennai consulate on 05th Apr 05 with a 10 days validation on my H1. She had been asked to submit renewed I 797 papers. After getting the renewed i 797 she submitted the all the documents through drop box. Its been 3 weeks till now, she did not get back the passport.

Did anyone got into this kind of situation? How long does it will take to get passport back?
