waiting for green card

Hello,

I went for my Adjustment of Status interview in Chicago local office in dec 2003 and did not get approved beause Iwas missing some documents. I later mailed them these documents and they sent me a letter back saying that I have been approved for adjustment of status and that in a "few months" they will mail me my GC - letter dated 12/30/03. Since I moved to Baltimore, the letter stated that I need to go to a INS office close to me to get my temporary stamp in my passport. I did that and went to the Baltimore office soon (Jan 7/04) after with my approval letter and they did NOT stamp my passport. They said they need to "see" my file and need to request it from the Chicago office. I was sooo mad! They said that once the file comes over they will send me a letter notifying me that my file was here and that I can come to the office and get my passport stamped.

I still have not received a letter and dont know what is happening?...what should I do?...Should I go to the office again, write a letter or just wait?

What is taking sooo long?....will I just be put back in the pile of I-485 cases?

Please...I need some advice!

Thx

You may also want to try posting your question elsewhere while waiting for responses here...

On news:alt.visa.us.marriage-based (if you don't have a newsreader, you can also access it via web browser at http://snipurl.com/4bcz which is the same as http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&group=alt.visa.us.marriage-based). There's a lot of experience there, including an immigration lawyer who often responds.

You can usually get quite good advice on http://forums.about.com/ab-immigration/messages/. Someone who seems to be a knowledgable CIS official (if he's not a lawyer) often replies there.

Someone who seems to be a knowledgable CIS official also often replies here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/immigrationforum/ .

There's a US immigration lawyer who responds to posts here: http://chat.lawinfo.com/forum.cfm?FID=1023 .

IM lawyers often respond here: http://forum.freeadvice.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=9 .

Here is an IM lawyer's private forum: http://www.jdmillsesq.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=10 .

I got some quite decent free advice here: http://www.visalaw.com/chatlive.htm . (It's really not a "chat", it sends an email containing your question).

Good luck,
Joe
