Hello people.

I sent the forms like 10 days ago and i am just waiting now. Do i need to call Kentucky?

Will they send me the a letter about the interview date?

When will the interviews start(2014EU00006XXX) and will they send me information like 1 or 2 months before the interview?

I am planning to get other documents ready. When should i start? It says that the documents must be sent to the embassy like 15 days ago. What if the letter comes 1 week before the interview?

When will i be able to learn the exact interview date?

Thanks.

Your Case Number is very low so you should expect an interview in Octover or November 2013. You should be geting your paperwork together now. You should receive a notification letter a few weeks ahead - perhaps as early as September. Yes you might want to call KCC to confirm receipt of your forms.

Good luck!

H1 B first time samping

Hi Rajev,
I asked you this question last time that can i get my first stamp on H-1 B from Canada/Mexico you reply was Yes i can go any country.. AS LONG AS YOU NOT HAVE BEEN OUT OF STATUS.
i want to add here that .

During my F-1 status i got Out Of Status one time but Re-instated my visa in 2010.
I am in US since Dec-2008

1-Please clear me if i can still go to any country as i got out of status once during my F-1 visa, Or i can only go to my back home for stamping?

2- Is there any law on it or is this just best practice to not go to another country *except your Home country) if you got out of status during F-1

Thanks

My understanding is the GCE OL is not enough and that GCE AL is what you need. Whether the diploma you gained is enough to qualify you (instead of the GCE AL) I don't know.

You don't need the educational qualifications IF your work experience is of a level that would qualify you. To check whether your work experience qualifies you, look at the link below under the section "work experience". The information provides a level that can be checked on the DOL website.

There's one thing that's been on my mind and I don't want to start up a whole new thread on it if someone can shed some light on it here (for which I would be highly appreciative!).

Education-wise I have IGCSEs (I attended an international school so we had to do I (international) GCSEs) then followed up by the International Baccalaureate (IB) program so I've done 13 years of school - no problem on that front as far as a high school diploma goes.

My first question pertains to the work experience aspect. According to my reading we either require a high school diploma or 2 years minimum work experience in the last five years in an occupation designated as Job Zone 4 or 5 according to the O*Net database etc.

Now I am presuming that employed person/selectees would carry some form of reference to their interview to demonstrate this e.g. an existing work contract or employer's reference over the last 5 years.

How would someone who is self-employed show evidence of work experience? Do self-employed persons/selectees need to carry an affidavit letter from the company signed by co-directors?

In my specific case I have been in the family business (sounds like a line from a mafia movie lol) for approximately 8 years and the only way I can think of showing evidence is having my parents (who are the company directors alongside me) write a letter/sworn affidavit to the consular officer about my time in the company.

Would this work? Our local US Embassy has our records/information from previous US visits/visas/forms (and my parents just got issued a new set of B1/B2 visas) so I don't think an affidavit letter on behalf of the company signed by them would be a problem but I would be grateful for some feedback from my fellow forum friends on this.

Also (I just remembered this), would I necessarily need an I-134 from my aunt/uncle (both US citizens) if I am a self-petitioner and paying my own way through? They are only giving me lodging but no financial support. Do they need to prove they are giving me lodging? I normally always stay with them when I visit the US (and the local US embassy has record/information of this too from previous visa applications/US visits).

Look forward to receiving some feedback on these matters. The work experience matter, I-134 issue, police certificate and medical are the only things remaining for me before my interview in August (hopefully!) :)

Much appreciation to all who take the effort to respond to my queries :)

If you have the education and can prove it, I don't see the need for the rest but you can take the documents with you if they will give you comfort. ;)

As for the I-134, you can have it as well as your bank statements as backup.

I think those are the simplest answers to your questions. No harm to have more documents but I think those should suffice.

BTW: I thought you knew this already since you explained your situation several times before.

Thanks so much as always BurundiWinner my dear. Be Blessed!

On the work experience aspect I was unsure. It was one of those things that I woke up in the morning and though of immediately and was wondering what to do about it.

Its kinda strange that I've repeated myself (and forgotten!) about some things in different ways because I think the anxiety is getting to me. If I become current in August it means I'm out of TZ in exactly 14 weeks which isn't a long time.

Did you see my post on the Tanzania thread? Would you be able to shed some light on it please?

I just answered in TZ thread. You'll get there just relax, you have everything you need for now. I know the feeling, I am counting the days...I just want to get it over with already.

Momo1980.

Regarding work experience it is important to explain and define your job within the family business. If the family business is a takeaway food business, then your work is unlikely to be qualifying. If however, you are running a software consulting business then yes perhaps your business (and your role) would be qualifying. So - by all means get a letter from the co directors, also show company incorporation information and have information about the type of business you run and your role in particular. Then also categorise that on the O*Net database.

Hey britsimon, thanks for the feedback above mate. I'll draw up the affidavit letter from my co-directors/parents accordingly.

My role in the company is kinda like a court jester in Medieval Times i.e. I just try to please everyone :p...actually the printing industry is always about pleasing others be it suppliers or customers or fellow directors or employees and not oneself! Ever been to a printshop or printing exhibition? You'll always see the owners looking totally kak-faced with plenty of grey hair and stress!

On another note/matter, I asked another member (BurundiWinner) but if you could spare a few minutes I'd be grateful for your feedback on police certificates. Getting a local police certificate in Tanzania isn't a problem however I also lived in the UK as a student between 2000 and 2005 and I know the rules say a police certificate is required if I was 16 and over at the time and lived in a particular place for 12 months or more however the 12 months period is a little unclear in that is it 12 months straight or an accumulated period of 12 months or over?

Getting a police certificate from the UK is a real bugger because they don't send them out to postal boxes so I'd need to have it sent to my brother in America first and then he'd send it to me grrrrrr :-|

Much appreciation for feedback!
