Waiting anxiously for I-140...

Hi Friends, I desparately need your help!

I filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently in 06/05 with EB2. In 09/05 I was laid off. After discussion with company, the company was kind enough to not withdraw my I-140 and also extend my employment to 12/05 - 180 days after my filing of I-485.

I am anxiously waiting any info of I-140 from Vermont. It seemed EB2 was dead on the same date March 19, 2005 (receipt date). Is there anyone having similar situation? How to find a good source about I-140 VSC update except disappointing website?

I am currently looking for jobs. There are opportunities. But with I-140 still pending and who knows when it will come, I don't know whether or how to accept the new job. Some attorneys say I should wait at least 180 days then go to work. Some say that I can file a new H1B (I still have 2 years left). Some companies want to hire me as part-time to solve the issue. I don't know whether or how these options work.

Please advice or at least share my anxiety and give me some hope while waiting...

Thanks a lot!

Hope for good. Wait & see. Lawyer, employer, congressman, etc are also unaware. USCIS knows better.
You have a good backup-H1B.

Framin,
In my opinion, you should immediately start looking/working for a company with a new H1B while you wait for your I140 approval. once it is approved and your I485 filing is older than 6 months, you can still invoke AC21 later if you want to...otherwise you'd be unnecessarily risking your legal status in US...
