"It was dark and wet Friday night when software programmer Alexander Dobrovolskiy walked out the door of his Palo Alto office.

The Ukrainian immigrant was headed home to a weekend with his wife and teenage son, for whom he had spent months swimming in paperwork to bring to the United States.

Seconds later, a hit-and-run driver struck the 38-year-old Palo Alto man as he crossed Alma Street at Everett Avenue. He died Saturday afternoon at Stanford University Hospital.

Dobrovolskiy was in the final stages of obtaining a green card when he was killed"

A $10,000 reward has been offered to encourage witnesses to come forward with information about the fatal hit-and-run accident that killed Palo Altan Alexander Dobrovolskiy last week.

BTW, the friend's name mentioned in the post 'Alex Koval' seems to be very familiar in this board. I think, he got approved after the interview sometime back.
 
i feel so sad after reading this. One of my friend always says "Life sucks and then you die at the end".
