Wage Question

My wife's company is filing her PERM EB2(Masters + 6months) soon. Her billing rate right now is almost close to 10 K less that what they are indicating for the position.

When she asked her company lawyer this, this is the response she received.

"The wage rate is an offer for when you get the Green Card. They don't
need to pay this till, at earliest, the I-140 but really the green Card filing."

Does this sound about right ? If say she finds a better paying project in the meantime before she files her 140, will her petition be ok?

Thanks very much.

This should not be a problem, the response received from lawyer is correct. The wage mentioned doesn't need to be paid until the GC is approved. Though the company should be able to show the ability to pay upon approval of GC.
