My 485 is finally approved.

ND: 11/05/03
AD: 08/02/04

Planning to go for stamping in couple of days.

1. Can anyone post their stamping experience in SFO.

2. My spouse 485 is not yet approved. It was filed only 4 months ago. What will be her status now? (i.e now that my GC is approved, I lose my H1 status and this implies my spouse would lose H4 status?)

3. I've been thinking about switching employers for a while now. Now that my GC is approved, can I switch immediately?

TIA and good luck!

Congrats and Good Luck.

Well I would suggest that you wait until you get your wife's case approved before switching job. The topic changing jobs immediately on approval has been dealt with in detail in several threads with quite a bit of pros and cons shared by lot of folks here.

If you have an EAD for your wife or H4 I think she is still fine with her status.

You might want to call the National Customer Service Center # (available on case status website) and explain about your approval and ask about the status of your wife, I think typically she should call and do the talking and they would not tell anything about her case to you from my experience and few of my friends' experiences.

She should shortly be getting her approval too.

Man you must be one hell of a lucky person to get your approval within 10 months of filing considering the fact that some folks here have been waiting for in some cases more than 36 or 45 months. Hope your Luck spreads all the folks who are waiting eagerly to get their GC process to END.

Good Luck and All the very best.

My FP date: April 8 2004.

Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah, I must be lucky to get the approval fast. But I got back my Labor and I140 approved way back in early 2002. I'm not sure whether that has any effect on my approval. Also, does anyone know what Priority date means? Is it different from the processing dates?

TIA!

1.Go early and stay in the line by 6 am at Washington Street. Carry all your EAD/AP and your I-94, passport, ID. If threre is no crowd you may get your PP stamped within 2 hours and you will be out. Good luck!
2. Her status will be adjustee. Do not worry about H4.
3. If it is employer sponspored, hang on for a while.
