could someone explain to me how the wac numbers work - mine is wac 02 061 - do a whole lot of people out there have this number or is it unique to me? How many people assigned to that number - any body else out there with that number and any info

appreciate any info - I am learning so much from this forum

It works like this..

WAC-XX-YYY-ZZZZZ

WAC = you filed in CSC
XX = INS work year 02 = oct 2001 to sept 2002.
YYY = (alleged) work day of year = 061 = 61st working day after Oct 2001.
ZZZZZ = dont know ..maybe some random number or some officer's desk related number.

WAC# is related to notice date...try to match it up.

The last five (zzzzz) is the sequence number for all kinds of applications received by the service center on a day of INS calender(yyy).

YYY ???

if YYY is really a work day of the fiscal year. then can it have 291 in it? INS/BCIS does not work on Saturday and Sunday. The last number should never be more than 365-104-10=241 (365 days - saturdays and sundays - statutary holidays).

I believe it is the day number of their calendar year but then i haven't seen any wac with YYY part > 300 being mentioned on this forum.

I am confused how they use this portion but again i don;t think this is of significant impact.
