Congratulations! Nice to see an old timer getting his approval.

Thanks. Actually I was approved more than two years back (Feb 2002). This approval is for my wife. Unlike other people who are going through daily frustration, tension due to economy, job scene, there was not much impact in our life due to this long wait. But it is still good to see this approval. Hope everybody get approval soon. Nobody deserves this long wait.

CONGRATULATION....

What is the application category? EB?

My wife is derivative applicant.
I was EB2 (WAC-02-019-XXXXX). But I don't think EB category matters in I485 stage. One of my colleagues who was in EB3 applied and approved I485 same time as me. But yes, in I140 stage EB2 helped a lot.

Hi Pralay,
Congratulation on your wife's approval. I have also been issued a B/C RFE. I was able to get one from Bombay. Did your wife had a bc and you got an affidavit or what?

Yes, she has a birth certificate, but the "child's name" was blank (one dash "-" was put there). Her name was not given that time. I contains only her parents name and date of birth. We provided that birth certificate with no name in her I485 application. In RFE, USCIS officer asked to provide TWO affidavits. We did not provide any non-availiability certificate alongwith because our attorney thought that is contradictory (as she has a birth certificate). But if you don't have any birth certificate, its' better to provide one non-availability certificate.
