It's freaking true. Yahoo!!! :)

Our 485 (me and my wife) got approved on Jul 16 2004. The reason it took me so long to post is that I was unable to believe it till I saw my approval notice, as there was no RFE involved.

I'm really happy to end this long journey. It's been some roller-coaster ride sharing thoughts with so many members out in this forum. Thanks to Silly Man, PCee, I-140, Kashmir, dsatish, ruxrux, etc. for all their hardwork.

Now, a qs. can I go to CIS office with my courtesy notice for the stamping or is it mandatory to take the original notice which has been sent to my lawyer. My lawyer says I can go with the courtesy notice (although the notice says I should take the original with me). Has anybody any experience of getting stamped with the courtesy notice?

My GC history:

Applied for labor Apr 2000
Labor approved May 2000 (in 1 month!)
I-140 appled Jul 2000
I-140 approved Dec 2001 (I-140 really takes 4 ever)
I-485 RD Feb 5 2002
ND Feb 8 2002
Ist FP Done Mar 2002
FP recd by INS Apr 6 2002
3 EADs and 3 APs
Lawyer called up CIS to qs why my case is taking so longer although JIT date has passed Jun 9th 2004
(IIO promised things will be looked into 3 weeks time)
2nd FP notice Jun 24 2004
2nd FP Done Jun 29 2004
2nd FP result recvd by CIS Jul 3rd 2004
I-485 approved Jul 16 2004

I almost stopped checking my status and got entirely frustrated to see JIT dates progressing. The phone call by my lawyer seems to have helped.
I would thefore suggest guys (Feb-Mar-Apr 2002 case) who have not gotten even their 2nd FP to have their lawyers call the numbers 949-389-3007/949-389-3252 and ask about their status. FAX to CIS does not work. I sent whole bunch of faxes but no response.

Will keep you guys posted on stamping experience. Best of luck to everyone. I sincerely hope all fo you guys get out of this long wait pretty soon.
