WAC 02-073 Approved (3 years to the date) after the usual RFE and stuff.

Took less than 2 weeks after the RFE response.

Has anyone recently stamped their passport in LA? I have heard stories that you need to go before midnight the night before to be able to get it. Is this true? How early should one go to get in line.

Thanks for your response.

Congratulation. I stamped my passport two years back in LA downtown. Going before 5 AM should be pretty safe. When I went there, there was a separate line for I485 approvals and that line was pretty short compare to other line - only six people were ahead of me. But in this forum I saw someone mentioned that there is no separate line anymore, but only one line. So you might want to double check it once you go there. But anyway, I don't think you need to go before midnight - that's too much. It's not end of world if don't get stamped on same day.

congratulations.

Go to Santa Ana , You do't have to go early . go thorugh appointment line and get stamped.

If you are not in Santa Ana jurisdiction, you should not go to Santa Ana. It's always better to go to office specified in approval letter - unless you moved to some other part of the country that you are unable to go to specified office.

Use Infopass ... it is as easy as it says ... you have to be in INS just 30 min before your appointment time .... no more waiting in long lines ....

Has any one used Infopass to schedule appointment for passport stamping? I tried using it today but passport staming was not one of them. If you have used it before, what option did you choose?

Thanks.

I guess you should select 'I need to speak to an immigration officer". Just a guess though.

I did my stamping in January 2004. I reached there at 6.45 AM and there were around 200 in the line. I am able to get inside the building at 11.00 AM. My token number was call at 2.45 PM and finished stamping at 3.15 PM.

Go little bit earlier and finish the done early. You have to stand on the East side of the line.

All the best

Congrats!!!
My 2 Cents....go to Santa Ana even if you are told for Los Angeles center...

I did stamping 3-weeks ago at Santa Ana....absolutely no problem...not big lines....

Check my previous posting about it on 3/9.

Pralay: you should give a reason when giving such an advise...
