RFE 11/7/02
My online case status changed on 11/7 and now says "An RFE was sent...." I changed employers after 180 days. I am pretty sure that the RFE is for paystubs, W2, EVL. I hope there is nothing else.
My lawyer, ex-INS employee, tells me that RFE for EVL is the norm rather than the exception. This is especially the case since my company shutdown its offices in the US and withdrew H1's (except mine). After I got my parole, I left the US and came back in before I got laid off (after 180 days) so I am in "AOS" and not H1 now. On the +ve side, lawyer tells me that all of his AC21 cases were approved.
I don't know whether to feel disappointed that I got an RFE or happy that my file was not just resumed but looked at !! Also, RFE is better now since I am presently employed.
My wife was issued an RFE for incomplete immunization on Sept 14'02. Her online case status says, "response rcvd Oct 4". Since she applied as a dependent, I guess her case won't be approved till mine is.
