I just checked the status on my wife's case online. It says that an RFE has been issued on Oct 24.
Her details are

Wac 02 034 5XXXX
RD 10/04/02
ND 11/08/02
FP 12/06/02 (San Francisco)


I also spoke with the IIO and he said that my case has been assigned. (Not too sure about that). My details are

RD 10/04/02
ND 11/08/02
FP 03/27/02 (San Jose)

I guess they are strating to pick up this series. I guess it gives hope to all people with similar profile.

The fact that you wife got RFE means that all your family cases are assigned to an officer.
 
When I spoke with the IIO, he seemed to indicate that our cases were assigned to different officers. Strange are the ways of INS :)
