VSC response for referral

I received this response today from VSC for my I-485 status enquiry.

"A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open.
Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on your case.If you don't hear anything from USCIS within 6 months please call our customer service".

Anybody else received the same response? Is it name check or some thing else?

i got the similar letter last week on my request for status of my 485 application.

it took around 5 weeks for the reply..

Is the back ground check same as name check or both are diff?

I also got same response.

First wait for FP notice
Second wait for 485 RD to become current
Third wait for PD to become current
Fourth wait for Name Check to clear
Fifth wait for officer to review your file

THEN YOU GET GC

BTW, VSC NameCheck processing is lagging by 6 months.

I got a same mail saying background check open. dont know how long it takes.
