Dear all,

On July-14- 2004, I gave my FP2 with out FP2 notice, last week I faxed a request to my local congressman about my case status and FP2. Congressman office got below reply form Vermont. What does it mean? please explain me what is going on.

VSC reply to congressman office:
The fingerprints cleared on 7/15/04---I have made copies and have requested the files to make sure that they are matched up for you and then once I get the files I will send them to the adjudications area--give it approximately 60-90 more days for processing.

does your FP2 updated in the website or still showing your FP1 given message? Why I am asking is I gave my FP2 w/o notice, still my online message showing my FP1 message....

I am wondering if there is any offcial document saying the FP expires in 15 months? ... never understood why would FP expire...

Whether you give the FP2 with or without the notice, the online message is not updated to FP2 received for most of the people.

my on line message is not updated with my FP2, it is the same old message saying about my FP1.

If I am not wrong, VSC used to have a stroage memory issues in their systems, recently they upgraded their systems with huge memory. I guess now onwards they do not delete FP if the FP are 15 months old or so.

Thanks to ALLTHEBEST & VERA.

Rahul, Go to your nearest INS office and request for your FP2, some of the centers they do this(if they don't have much work). For me I just walked into Memphis INS and explained about my FP expiration and all they took my FP2...

Vera - What is the source? it does not seem to be right

Vera,

This does not seem to be correct.
People are still getting FP2.
There are users here reporting receiving FP2 everyday - so FP2 after 15 months is still a reality.

Well actually if you read USCIS Director Eduardo Aguirre's testimony to the Congress, he did tell them the same thing. FPs would not expire in the future. My guess is people who are receiving FP notices are those whose FPs have either already expired or they haven't been FPed at all. However, those who were FPed after the new system was put in place, shouldn't need to be FPed again. I hope none of us is around in 15 months to validate the accuracy or correctness of this claim.

Hmm, How do I guess about my FP2?

Peeved,

That is good to know.
But,

As per 15 months rule, my FP1 expired on July 18th, 2004.
FP1 was done on April 18, 2004.

Would I receive FP2?

our fingerprint will expire 27th aug...let's see..

I got my FP2 notice scheduled for August 26th. Hope this helps in clarifying that FP2's are being issued and not Abandoned.
