Hi all:

here is my time line:

N400 - VSC
Mailed : 7/27/07
Received : 7/30/07
Checks Cashed : 8/29/07
Receipt Received : 11/17/07
FP Received : 11/17/07

I have received receipt letter today, also received FP notice.
But my receipt letter says like below:
"The above application has been received by our office and is in process, but has been noted with one or more of the following exception(s):
Missing Evidence(s): your application was missing evidence(s) that you will need to provide at the time of your naturalization interview. You will be notified under separate notice of the evidence...etc...etc...
BUT NO DETAILS ABOUT WHAT EVIDENCE IS MISSING...

My case should be fairly straightforward, changed GC employer after 1 year, 4 employers so far, mentioned that I had 3 traffic tickets (no charges filed, all of tickets are speeding violations less than <$500...).

Not sure what is missing...

Now,Any one in the same situation ? what does it mean ? What to do now ? Anything to worry now ?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Thats a pretty normal form letter - probably 50% of applicants receive the same thing. If something really is missing (unlikely), you will be informed in the interview notice, or perhaps during interview itself. Don't worry about it!

I had the same kind of letter

Hi, I got the same kind of letter. I thought may be I should've attached the traffic tickets even though they were less for $$ less than the application specifies (I think it was $500). My dates were also similar to yours. Sent the application on July 25th, checked was cached second week of August, did finger prints in October.

I have a question. Does your receipt number have 13 numbers? Mine is only 12 and then there is the asterick in the middle.

Thanks.

Standard letter if you checked yes to any one of the arrested/detained/tickets questions.

Not quite true. I checked yes on one of those questions and didn't get such a letter. Mine was the "normal" one so I wouldn't call it standard

If you did not receive such a letter despite of checking off YES to one of those questions then it was totally a mistake of the clerk who issued Receipt Notice in your case. Otherwise, I've not heard of even one case so far wherein such a letter was not received after checking off one of those questions despite of me being around to this site and 2 more other immigration sites for many years, and had been practiced Immigration laws previously.

As we all know that everyone makes mistakes. So obviously, clerk in your case made a mistake when s/he didn't send such a letter despite of you checking off one of those questions. No wonder why we hear sometime that some female applicants were asked to bring Selective Service Letter when Selective Service matter is applicable only to male applicants.

Nevertheless, it should be known that it's just a standard/general letter which is meant nothing. Everyone receives such a letter whenever someone checks off YES to any of the questions on the application wherein an explanation is required at the time of interview. Also, keep it in mind that sending documentations to those YES questions with the application will not prevent receiving such a letter because Immigration clerks don't even check those documentations; rather they just review the application to see if there is YES to any of those questions so that they could send out such a letter. Applicants will need to take all the documentations or provide explanation to any of those YES questions AT THE TIME OF INTERVIWING and ONLY UPON ASKED.

Overall, just disregard this letter. It's meant NOTHING.....

Will checking off to any (traffic ticket, academic organization) of the questions slow down the application?

On my receipt it says: You should expect to be notified within 540 days of this notice.
I checked yes to traffic ticket and academic organization. Is the number of days a randomly generated number?

Thanks

I listed three institutions/clubs/alumni on my N-400 and I got the IL 4 months after the Priority Date.
On my receipt it says: You should expect to be notified within 540 days of this notice.
My I-797 mentioned 180 days - 183 days elapsed from PD to Interview.

pretty normal stuff

I checked YES to traffic tickets. I had 2 or 3 tickets but they were all minor one's. I think whenever anything is checked YES they automatically send receipt with exception. I got that too...
