VSC - Name check results

Hi,

I had called in the lat week of February and an officer took my information and came back and said they got all the information they needed from the FBI and my name check is completed. He also said my application is on the "Visa Hold" status for my visa number to be available.

I called back today and was told that the application says that the name check has not gone through and is still waiting on it. But I was told the file moved (move forward or backward - I am not sure - also no LUD change).

The officer on the first time took a lot of time to retrieve my information which makes me believe that he did a thorough investigatation and I have a feeling that the results are in but the data is just not updates because my application was not current.

The lady this time said that the file has moved and once someone takes a look at it when the visa becomes available, the officer will first check whether name check is done and then work on the application.

does anyone know the procedure ie how the name check results come back, are they updated on the file immediately (even if the PD is not current) and if there is any hope for anything going positive for me!!!

I have the same msg and got 'case is hold because of visa numbers' msg through status enquiry. I am assuming all the checks are done becasue some people got name check pending msg through enquiry.

You scare me now. I was happy for a day. My lawyer found out when he called USCIS that my name check is cleared. How do we find out the true pictue?

no need to worry

baki555, dont worry about it...I think they are through..as I said earlier there is a difference between the officer and CS lday who helped me the second time.

The CS do not think out the box about whether the results might have come through or not..I think our name cheks have been completed..

suuply demand which congressman did you approach

I called congressmas Tom Davis' soffice but they said that my RD is not current and they will check it only when it becomes current.

What is best way to move forward. How did you contact whom did you talk to?

I did not contact any congressman. I called VSC to ask them the status of my name check.

If my 485 does not get approved soon I may have to contact a good senator from MA.

You said that (officer and CS lday ) had different messages.

What does that mean?

Whom id you talk to to get the updated information?

Hi Supplydemand....how did u get the status on your name check. I called for that and he gave me the same info that is on the website. He said he doesn't know anything more than that.

just depends on whom yout alk to..jits all luck!!! sometimes you get someone who is willing to giv extra information and sometimes you just get somone who will not divulge anything.

I talked to a CSR lady and earlier when I called I talked to a guy who I think is an officer and not a regular CSR (these people help the CSRs out esp when the dates have retrogressed and thehy dont have much work to do).

Hi Supply_demand,

But your PD for your LC is current , again i assuming you are a EB3 India which is current JAN01 so what is keeping yours from getting approved.
Did you get that info from the VSC call.

My PD for the LC is Feb 2001 and I am not sure whether i should call back VSC after the April 2006 Bulletin is out ? Again Assuming that the date moves to JAN01+

Visa Availability

Hello Experts,

I need your openion, I called VSC around two months ago regarding my 485 case status and I was told that my case is on "Birthdate and name check hold". After that I had put inquiry based on "outside processing time" and after 45 days I got a letter that they are jus waiting for the VISA Availability. Since my Priority Date iwould be current as of tomorrow and 485 processing time is also current. Does this mean, I would have chance to get 485 approved?

Can you pleae tell me the number you called to get the information about your 485 application.
I have been searching for a number in these forums for a few days now without success. I guess its too obvious and everybody knows, but I am not able to find that info.

I know only this number. Are you talking about this number for case status and start inquiry? or something else....
 
Wondering how do I know if the name check is complete.

The message I get is

Current Status:

On June 13, 2005, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case.
