Just confirm with my lawyer this morning, was told VSC has indeed stopped process I-485 which will last for few weeks. Ask the trun around time for my RFE, answer is don't know! I have encounter numerous ceased or dely of process since I-140, this seems never end

till next year

A few weeks will mean next year. I think INS want to make use of every execuse to not work.

This is probably very true

I have not seen any approvals except for the trickle which now seems to have dried out completely.

I think VSC has stopped processing 485's totally and today at 1.20 PM when the Homeland Secuity department will be official the INS will cease to exist.

The two new bureaus' that will be created will need to be re-organized and that will take a few years before they will function smoothly. That does not mean we guys will be here for years.

In the next few weeks there will be tremendous confusion as the reconfigured INS (Bureau of Citizenship) will be looking for new directions, methodologies etc. It would be wishful thinking to assume business as usual.

This is tiring, sickening and frustrating. My patience which was fast eroding has dissappeared. This wait never ends.

Approvals have dried out not only from VSC, but also from other service centers, too as per the data from rupnet.

Neither AILA nor INS has any explanation or information about freeze or slow-down on their web-sites and the rumor-mill is fueled by absence of any offcial word.

May be they are waiting for the new stationery under the name of "Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration" (old wine in new bottle????) instead of the INS so that next approval notices reflect new entity!!!!:D :D :D

Best wishes,

Jigesh

Which wouldn't work for us anyway... but INS would certainly make a lot more money!:o

Nonsense, check case

eac0205350094, eac0205450007

all transferred today. It means INS is still processing cases. As matter of fact, there're many cases processed last week. It's probably slowed down, but definitely not ceased.

And even if the bill passed, it takes a year to do transition, so our cases won't be affected.

cool down guys .. there nothing like that they cannot stop processing. they cannot stop processing. We paid money to process our case. If they want stop it. Rather to cease itm, they will go and set priority date and they dont accept any applications.

They might be going doing more security checks.

good luck
