Its been a tough run. But my EB1-OR petition was finally approved by the Vermont Service Center on October 13. After submitting a fairly voluminous package of supporting documents ( publications, citations, letters, testimonials etc.), I received a fairly generic RE that required quite a lot of substantiations, primarily to provide additional evidence to prove the "outstanding" and "internationally recognized" aspects of my research and accomplishments. The RFE came as a shock - but not a huge surprise - since VSC issues a whole lot of Roes these days for EB1 applicants. My RFE response included a couple of new articles and citations, two "more detailed" letters from my previous references and an additional four letters. I believe that most RFEs issued by VSC will eventually be approved, provided the response is direct, to the point and strongly argued.
