After a little less than 3 years of starting our GC, we have got approvals.

Brief details:
EB2 - NIW (self petition) - India - Pittsburgh. I-140 PD 06/17/97 I485 ND 12/11/98 Approval 06/09/00

Detailed details:
I140 NIW application with 11 reco letters, 4 pubs, 1 presentation, 10 papers indicating that the area is national interest, 4 papers indicating uniqueness of my research.
I 140 took 26 days for approval back in June 1997

I485: I140, photos, application forms, Original and notarized translations of birth certificate and notarized affidavits of birth for my wife and me from Uncles and aunts here, marriage cert for my wife, A letter from my HR dept indicating salary, time of hire AND area of research, a 3 page letter from company VP detailing how I am still involved in the NIW based work.

I believe comprehensive and detailed documentation helps, at least in avoiding delays due to RFEs.

Enjoy your research! I wonder though why you were EB2 instead of EB1!
