VSC AVM updating time!!! – In my case I checked yesterday (3/18/02)

In my case I checked yesterday (3/18/02) 9.30 PM EST the same message “FP notice mailed”. I checked just now (3/19/02) 1.30 PM EST the AVM says “on March 18th FP result received process resumed” So it is very clear that VSC AVM gets update in the midnight or early in the morning.

By the way what is mean by “FP result received process resumed”. Is it means FBI cleared my FP and INS VSC can proceed in my case? (OR) INS VSC just received from local ASC and INS VSC will wait for FBI clearance for some more time.

Please share your opinions.

Thanks in advance.

FBI cleared

Hi,
My case also i heard the message "FP recd pending review " on 14th march at 10.00 pm .very next day at 10.00pm i checked the AVM it said "FP review and process resumed we mail you if we need anything or the decision will made".It means FBI cleared FP and INS VSC doing process on your case.

GOOD LUCK

Actually on the same day

My FP was taken in the afternoon and were sent to FBI on the same day. On the same day evening they were verified and results sent to INS-VSC.

FBI sends FP notifications to INS electronically

FBI sends the results of the finger print investiagtion to INS electronically. Hence the process takes a very short time. The 1-2 month wait for finger print clearing has gone away, unless the person has a criminal record.

Ideally, the AVM should get updated immediately on receipt. But as you well know there is no ideal case at INS.

TO GC Fever

My FP was done on 3/14 (MD), and the message in AVM is the same as yours. Keep the information update.

Two things : FP Results and Back ground Check seems different

It looks to me, the following two things INS expects from FBI/CIA.

1. Finger Print results, pass or fail.
2. FBI/CIA after having our Fingerprints and other information like Social security ID), will check our background and they send information to INS if they find something wrong otherwise no response to INS.INS looks for 6-8 weeks for our background clearance before final signal for any file to make it ready for Adjudication.

All this information i have gathered with talking to various friends and knowledge from previous discussions in various immi. sites.

Obviously am not sure for 100% accuracy of this information .

Just my thoughts.

Hi Watch Dog, If this is true (INS will wait for 6-8 weeks for signal from FBI/CIA) ....

Hi Watch Dog, If this is true (INS will wait for 6-8 weeks for signal from FBI/CIA) why many people says including attorney Mrs. Murthy there is no connection between FP date and GC approval date. I am asking because my RD is 7/5/01 and FP done on 3/13/02. I see majority of July filers done FP in November and December 2001 and most of the July approval has FP in November or December 2001 which is confusing me. Any idea?

Watch Dog is probably true

Here is a case of my friend, FP done on 12/27/2001, and AP on 2/19/2002, but his 485 RD around the end of April, 2001.

To: GC Fever.

In my view the Back ground check issue is an understanding or procedure between DOJ and FBI/CIA and the lawyers will know only the things which are said on white paper and the INS never let any one know about the complete detailed procedure of how they are working on GC processing that is why we all joined in this forum to understand little more than what lawyers knew.

Lawyers will only know the processing to get GC and also previous experience of GC approval/RFE/Local transfer etc. They will answer the questions on the basis of this knowledge.

Also we might have seen few cases which have not followed the 6-8 waiting rule/procedure and have no idea on what basis they skip some cases.

Hope to see your case will break the Jinx of 6-8 weeks waiting thing.

Good luck!
