Vsc Ap

My question is probably a bit off-topic but I need your help. My wife applied for AP and EAD with VSC in March. She received her EAD card within a month but VSC generated a RFE for her AP. There was some confusion about her maiden and married name. Our lawyer replied with a copy of marriage certificate. When I checked in late April, IIO told me that they never received the reply to RFE. I went ahead and submitted the response. On 3rd May the message changed that they have received the response.
1) Does anybody know how long will it take form here?
2) We already bought the non-refundable tickets and supposed to leave the country on May 18th. Is it possible to obtain AP from VSC by appearing in person? Has anybody done this before?

Thx..

I think that if it is your first AP then it has to come from VSC. However if you and your spouse have not used EAD, you can travel using your existing H1 as these visas don\'t require AP..

I did not make my self clear. I already have my GC. My wife has appliedfor GC as derivative. This is an AP renewal for her. I just trying to find out if it is possible to get AP in person from VSC or they do not even entertain any requests like these.

Raj,

I am sorry I am not knowledgeable about this particular situation. You might want to contact a lawyer to explore options.

You can always get an AP from your regional INS office. Even if you
had applied for one in VSC, just go to the INS office with a fresh
application and money order and photos, they will give you without any
question. If they do ask.. tell them this is an emergency and you have
to leave the country immediately.
The 90-day rule that you need to wait for 90 days to go to an INS
office applies only to EAD card and it has nothing todo with AP.

DOnt wait till last minute.. Just go and get it from the local INS
office. Best of luck.

Thanks Bhanu and Niceguy. Do I have to take the I485 receipt also? My local office is Newark and it seems like that they treat people like dogs. Has anybody ever obtained AP sucessfully from Newark office?

They should treat you decently. I had a nice treatment in the Boston
INS office. If they treat you like dogs give him back the same treatment.
