VSC- 485 -Newark Case Transfer -Interview, approved today - Jan 25
EB2, VSC, India, PD - Sep 97, (self, wife and daughter)
485 RD/ND - May/June 99
Case Trasnferred to Newark - Aug. 29. 2000 (all three of us)
Interview - Jan 25 2001
Reached Newark office @ 9 AM , gave letter to reception ..
Was called @ 11:30
Office Very Polite, He asked me - all passports, EAD, Emp. letter, W2/Tax for 99, 98
Took 2 min. asked us to sign and took FP for self and wife.(kids no need to sign/FP)
Asked us to wait , Officer came back in 20 min, all 3 passport stamped for 1 yr.
good for travel/work. Told card will come in 3 - 6 months.
I had taken everything -- Affidavit (I 134), Medical, Salary Stubs, All original Birth, marriage cert. etc. Did not ask for these.
I suggest take everything to be safe. Mostly Interview is a formality
and case transfer may be Random.

Anyway here is my complete story -
I am EB2, India, PD - sep 97. Total Time taken for GC -- 3 1/2 years.
Passport stamped - Today Jan 25 2001.
Labor cleared Sep 98 (boston) -- lawyer applied for RIR, denied, and then advertised,
did fast processing etc..
I 140 cleard March 99, (there was Req. for evidence --
no one got any request - (my company/lawyer)... after a week message was -
Replied recieved GOD knows where they sent req., and who replied --
some people\'s theory -- It might have been internal Req. to DOL etc..
Anyway , In April 99, PD was current, but due to regular delay in medical etc. Posted the 485 in May, but VSC made the ND as June 15, 99\'
Case transferred to Newark Dist. office on Aug. 29th. 2000
Long Wait -- very frustrating as many others were getting approved directly.
Wrote to NJ 12th. Dist Congressman On Oct. 15, 2000. Got reply in Dec.
Delay in reply from Congressman\'s office due to elections etc.
Fisrt Week that Newark office Received the case, and will schedule for interview.
Later Dec. 18, Congressman\'s office called and told Newark has scheduled interview on Jan 25, 2001
Next Day I got the Interview letter from Newark Office.
(They had sent to my old address, even though I had updated address in VSC and
also VSC had sent he trasfer letter to my new address)
Anyway, collected all docs - empl. letter, w2, redid the medical,
affidavit, (I 134) etc.
-Also I called in July 1st. week to change my address ---
Just a change in the Street in the Same Town --
Other previous Calls to VSC -
called VSC in Feb 99\' for I 140 -- They wont\' talk to me as I am not the Petetioner.
Anyway 140 got cleared in March.
Called ~ April 2000 -- to ask about FP as others were getting --
and was told will get in a month .. which I got ~ FP - June 20
Called July for Change of address.
Called on Aug. 22 to confirm Change of address and FP Clearance.
Told everything is fine and wait for 2 months
Called on Sep. 1st. to confirm that case is transferred to Newark --
asked why -- IIO wont\' say why.
