Hi

I want to bring my parants on Visitor visa. I am sending the documents. I don't have h1b, but I am wokring on EAD. AOS pending. In Affidavit of Support form under question 1.

If you are not a native born United States citizen, answer the following as appropriate:
a. If a United States citizen through naturalization, give certificate of naturalization number
b. If a United States citizen through parent(s) or marriage, give citizenship certificate number
c. If United States citizenship was derived by some other method, attach a statement of explanation.
d. If a lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States, give "A" number

What should I give. Can I give the A number from I-485 ?

Thanks to all gurus

You cannot go for the last option till your I485 is not approved.
Technically, you are still not admitted as permanent resident of USA. You are in 485 stage. Its kind of limbo stage. Wait till your approval.
Alternatively, don't file afidavit. Send a letter(invitation letter saying you want to invite parents and will support them) with your asset statement, job letter, W2 etc to shoe salary with visa package.
I have done it and was sucessful with it.INS told me I can't file affidavit as I am still "adjusting".

Thank you

Thank you for reply.

So we don't have to send support of affidavit. Is that ok? You are telling you did it for your parents.

THanks

Hi vkml,
It seems BankeBihari2003 took some risk. Why don't you contact a immigration attorney(better bet is Rajiv Khanna) and find out. It seems strange. They should have another option of none of the above, to cover the rest of the people.
If you want to take risk, you do like BankeBihari2003 said, otherwise, it is good to contact an attorney. Affidavit of Support is an important document, that they need during visa time.
Rest is up to you . . .

I would rather say, mention your A # and specify clearly as
Adjustment of Status. I don't know how American embassy will give visitors visa with out Affidavit....they might definitely ask for it and if its not there they might reject. Post 9/11 its tough to get visa without proper documentation. I would rather say just tell the truth and see what happens.
