We live in Illinois. My husband's uncle married a woman from Russia and he adopted her two children. Her son was over 21. They brought him over to USA on vistor's visa. They've hired a lawyer to help him get his citizenship. Their vistor's visa has since expired,but they have filed out the paperwork for citizenship. I don't think the lawyer knows how do deal with immigration laws. What are some of the steps that they need to do to hurry the process up? Can they get into alot of trouble for being over here with expired visa's?
