My mom's visa was rejected today on 214(b) . She was planning to travel by herself as my Dad's schedule does not permit him to travel at this time. She does intend to reapply in a few days time.
I have the following questions:
She had all the necessary paperwork (incl property ownership, her bank account statements). Would an affidavit from her stating that she has no intentions of staying permanently in the US help? I intend to send a letter to this effect as well!
Would contacting my Senator help in any way? Or would the folks at Chennai think of this as intefering in their jurisdiction? Has anybody done this and do you have a sample email/letter that you sent to the Senator/Congressman?
I don't know what else we should do ... this is pretty exasperating, to say the least. Rajiv, any solutions?
