Visitor's Visa after denial of Extension of Visitor's visa

Hello,

My parents were here 1.5 years back. At that time, upon advise of a lawyer we applied for extension of Visitor's visa (beyond 6 months). Lawyer convinced us that this should go through. But INS denied that application. I guess in that case although they had 10 years of Vistor's Visa, this became invalid. Can someone please confirm the same?

Also, if the above being the case, after how long ideally they should reapply for visitor's visas?

Thanks

In my opinion the denial of extension should not cancel the 10 Year Multiple
entry visa they had. It is only the request for extension that is denied.

What is your source for this information?

I hope they have left US within the I-94 validity period.
