Visitor visas to parents

Hi all, I need information about the visitor visas. If my parents go to get visa and they want to come after 1 year or so, do you think that is a problem? Is there something like when they get the visa for the first time, they need to come within 3 months or 6 months of the stamping date otherwise the visa is not valid?

You can get the visa now and if the visa is valid for 5 years, they can start even on the 4th year, 363rd day, provided they land in US before the US visa expires.

Thanks. It helps a lot. Somebody told me that if the visa is not used within 3/6 months, it is invalid.
 
Also, there are chances they may be issued a visa for 1 year or even lesser duration. In that case you would have wasted the money. Therefore it is advisable to get a visa closer to the time they plan to travle and not a year in advance.
