I am novice to this area.

I believe the vistor visa is B2 -- Please clarify.

My I 485 recently approved. My father from India would like to visit me in US. Are there any issues? what kind of documentation he needs to take to the counsulate.

Documents required for Visitor Visa

You need to send an I-134 affidavit of support (notarized), letter from your employer, letter from your bank, bank statements, your I-485 receipt and few other documents. Just went through this process for my parents.
