Visitor Visa while PR Application Pending

Hi!

Does anybody has the experience of visitor visa while one's application for PR is pending? How was the process and any issues involved? How if the H4 visa in US is expired while awaiting new extension of H4?

Would appreciate your views.

I had no problems in getting a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa or TRV, as it is called) to Canada in February while my PR application was pending. Note:

1. I mailed in my passport to the Canadian Consulate and received the visa within one week
2. In the visa application form, one of the questions asked is if you have applied for permanent residencey; I responded affirmatively and sent a copy of my positive initial assessment
3. The purpose of my visit was to get H1B visa in Vancouver; I mentioned this in my application and sent a copy of the appointment letter to the Canadian Consulate

Any issues if your current visa(H4) has expired in US and you are awaiting your extension(of H4) while you apply for TRV?

Don't know the answer to that question but I if I were to guess, I would say there should be no adverse impact on the visa application. You may want to try contacting the relevant Consulate who I think would generally be quite helpful.
